Pomm takes its name from Pomodoro. The goal was to find a name that naturally connects to the Pomodoro Technique while reflecting the app's minimalist design philosophy. The interface is intentionally simple — with few settings or distractions. The idea is to make it quick and easy to get started without overthinking, something many of our interview participants emphasized.
When you open the app, you're greeted with a screen asking you to choose your mood for working. There are three options: Creativity, Focus, or No Music.
• Creativity generates one type of musical atmosphere.
• Focus offers another.
• No Music gives you only the timer and the app's ambient sound design.
Once you've selected your mood, the music begins and you can start the timer — which by default counts down from 25 minutes. In Settings, you can adjust the length of both work and break intervals, or switch moods to explore new soundscapes.
